Sometimes simple is perfect. My Newborn Mini Photoshoot is a shorter, baby-only session designed to capture beautiful, timeless portraits without the full length and variety of a classic newborn session. I’m Sarah of Sarah Louise Photography in Westhoughton, Greater Manchester.
I keep minis calm, cosy and completely baby-led, so you leave with a small set of gorgeous images and a stress-free experience.
A mini is a streamlined version of my full newborn session. We focus on your baby only, using simple wrapped poses and one carefully chosen colour palette. The session is shorter (around 45–60 minutes) and includes a curated selection of final images, ideal if you love a clean, minimal look or want a smaller collection to mark those early days.
If you’d like more time, multiple set-ups, parent/sibling portraits and a wider gallery to choose from, my full Newborn session will be a better fit.

The sweet spot for a newborn mini photoshoot in Westhoughton is typically 5–21 days when babies are naturally sleepier and more settled in wraps. If your baby is a little older, minis can still work beautifully, we’ll simply keep things cosy and adapt to awake expressions.
Send an enquiry with your due date to check availability. I’ll reserve your space with the £45 session fee and pencil your due date. When your baby arrives, we confirm your session time and you simply come and enjoy a calm, baby-led morning or afternoon.
Two weeks later, you’ll return to see your gallery and choose the images you love.
Your Newborn Mini includes a pre-session chat, full use of wraps and headbands/bonnets, professional editing, and a viewing/ordering appointment around two weeks later to choose your favourites. Minis are baby-only; parent and sibling images are part of the full newborn session.
A Newborn Mini is priced lower than my full newborn session and includes a smaller set of finished images.
I provide everything for baby. If you have a small keepsake (perhaps a blanket or toy) we can include it subtly within the chosen colour palette. For the journey, pack nappies, wipes and milk/feeds; a dummy can help soothe even if you don’t usually use one.
Newborn minis are baby-only to keep the session short and focused. If you’d like family portraits, please book the full newborn session.
We keep the studio warm and soothing and work patiently with gentle wrapping. If your little one needs a longer break than minis allow, we’ll discuss options on the day.
You’re still welcome. We’ll adapt to more awake time and aim for cosy, wrapped images and sweet close-ups.
You can upgrade to a full session any time prior to the day of your photoshoot.
