Hello, I’m Sarah, the face behind Sarah Louise Photography in Westhoughton, Bolton. Before I became a full-time photographer, I spent more than a decade working in early years education with children aged 0–5.
That experience shaped everything about the way I photograph families today: a calm pace, gentle handling, and a genuine understanding of little personalities: from the sleepiest newborns to the cheekiest toddlers.
My journey into photography grew naturally out of those years with children.
I loved supporting families as their little ones learnt and grew, and I found myself drawn to the quiet, fleeting moments that so often pass unnoticed. Combining that passion with professional training led me to start Sarah Louise Photography: a studio dedicated to capturing memories from bump, baby and beyond.
Sessions with me are relaxed and baby-led. I keep the studio warm and welcoming, follow your child’s cues, and never rush or force a pose. Safety and comfort come first. Styling is simple and timeless—soft textures, neutral tones and carefully chosen props that keep the focus where it belongs: on your family and the connection you share. Parents and siblings are always welcome to step in; those first family portraits often become the most treasured images of all.
While I photograph a range of family milestones: maternity, newborns, older baby milestones and first-birthday cake smashes, my heart is in those early chapters when everything changes so quickly.
I use my early-years background to soothe, settle and engage little ones (and to help grown-ups feel at ease too). The result is a session that feels comfortable and enjoyable, and photographs that are honest, tender and beautifully you.
My space is entirely built around your little one’s needs: as a specialist newborn photography studio, I ensure that everything needed for your family to feel at home is available on the day of the session.
